"But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all( our sons) who do good." ~Romans 2:10
Honor conveys a picture of knights rescuing a damsel in distress and now a days this picture is not always accurately portrayed to young kids.
There is so much to learn about honor from the word of God he teaches us how to be honorable people in all areas of our lives. May we learn the word and put it to work before the eyes of our sons, so that when the time comes they will walk in honor as we did before the Lord.
One of the areas in which we can teach them how to exercise honor is with the young ladies they will come in contact with. Brooke recommends this book-The Princess and the Three Knights by Karen Kingsbury-as a way to teach boys about honor. I can't wait to read it to Sam! Boys will watch their fathers and emulate the way they treat their mothers. They will also watch the way their mothers treat their fathers and expect to find those same traits in their future wife. Let us honor our children by teaching them these truths from an early age.
May__Sam____fear the Lord, and receive honor (Psalm 15:4)
Lord, I pray this prayer today for Sam and for all of the boys in our prayer group. Lord, be their strength to be able to stand against this world and its distraction. Help us as parents to teach them true honor in action and word. I pray for the mothers that have come along side me in prayer be their strength as well and help us to be the mothers you have called us to be-with your help Lord we can do all things! we love you and praise you amen!
Gracefully Daisy
