a poem of Humility for Sam

"May Sam have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart and a humble mind." 1 Peter 3:8

There is so much light in these beautiful eyes
So much hunger for love and knowledge

May the light in your eyes shine with humility
May the Lord take pleasure in you
and adorn you with Salvation

Your hunger will be satiated
but sometimes you will feel overwhelmed
At that time May you have all humility and gentleness
with patience bearing with others in love

I will always love you and shower you with  love but
there is One who has loved you before the beginning of time
He will always hear you from heaven
when you humble yourself pray and seek his face

Dear son clothe yourself with humility daily
for
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble"
And when you walk in Humility before the Lord
He will  in the proper time exalt you

Jesus has Risen!

Thank you Lord we praise you for you Love and for Rising from the dead to give us hope and validate our faith! Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Mark 16

 1 Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on Sunday morning,[a] just at sunrise, they went to the tomb. 3 On the way they were asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” 4 But as they arrived, they looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled aside.
 5 When they entered the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a white robe sitting on the right side. The women were shocked, 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth,[b] who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, including Peter, that Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you before he died.”

 8 The women fled from the tomb, trembling and bewildered, and they said nothing to anyone because they were too frightened.[c]

Worthy is the Lamb

Today we remember that God's love for us is beyond our wildest imaginations.
During Christmas time I could relate to Mary and her babe
but today I can't even imagine how Mary's heart was breaking as she watched her son being tortured, mocked and ultimately crucified  as he took on our sin so that we could have life.

Isaiah 53

 He grew up before him like a tender shoot,
   and like a root out of dry ground.
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
   nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
   a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
   he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
 4 Surely he took up our pain
   and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
   stricken by him, and afflicted.
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
   he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
   and by his wounds we are healed.
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
   each of us has turned to our own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
   the iniquity of us all.
 7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
   yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
   and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
   so he did not open his mouth.
8 By oppression[a] and judgment he was taken away.
   Yet who of his generation protested?
For he was cut off from the land of the living;
   for the transgression of my people he was punished.[b]
9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
   and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
   nor was any deceit in his mouth.
 10 Yet it was the LORD’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
   and though the LORD makes[c] his life an offering for sin,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
   and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.
11 After he has suffered,
   he will see the light of life[d] and be satisfied[e];
by his knowledge[f] my righteous servant will justify many,
   and he will bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,[g]
   and he will divide the spoils with the strong,[h]
because he poured out his life unto death,
   and was numbered with the transgressors.
For he bore the sin of many,
   and made intercession for the transgressors.

So I Say thank you Lord for loving me so...

Praying for a Gentle Spirit

"May Sam be completely humble and gentle; patient, bearing with others in love." Ephesians 4:2

Today I continue to pray for the Lord to put his gentle and loving spirit in Sam.
I pray that, "Sam may take God's yoke upon Him, and learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart, then Sam will find rest for his soul (Matt 11:29)

Daily I see Sam's strength and I praise the Lord
all the same I see that he is strong willed and I ask the Lord to mold that into passion for Him
the next time I catch glimpses of his humanity showing me he is upset about something
and I whisper to him, "Gentle buddy, you are a gentleman..."
I pray again, "Lord, give Sam your gentleness."

As I have taken on the challenge of prayer for little guy I have discovered such wonderful encouragement in God's word. He has thought of everything already. He knows how we need to pray for our sons so he has given us the verses to pray over them. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and strength as we raise our little guy to become a man according to your heart.
